About Joel F. Lester

TBQ Photography was founded in 2006 by Joel F. Lester in St. Louis, MO.  While having his beginnings in the web application development arena, Joel later realized the best way to make a good website a great one was to us his own photos.

In 2000, Joel purchased a digital camera and began taking pictures of people, places, and life on the streets.  With a growing array of diverse photos, it took no time for his photography to go from hobby, to passion.  Since then, Joel has upgraded from his humble point and shoot camera days yet continues to get down into the depth of his photos.  The combination of his graphic design, photography, and computer savvy makes him a well rounded and creative, one-stop photographer.

In 2007 he joined up with Jay Kene’ Photography to create TBKene’ Fotografia.  this union of 2 of St. Louis’ best and brightest photographers doubles the effectiviness while decreasing the stress to clients and themselves.

With the 2008 road map in place for TBQ Photography and TBKene’ Fotografia, Joel is poised to make a huge impact in the international fashion, editorial, and commercial photography arenas.

About Jay Kene’

Jay Kene’ has always had a passion for creative photography since he was just a child.  After documenting many events for his church and a wedding for a family member in the spring of 2006, he decided to pursue a career in wedding photojournalism.

Before pursuing a career in documenting weddings on his own, Jay dedicated countless hours to studying some of the industries best wedding photojournalists, as well as 2nd shooting for some of the area’s top wedding photographers.  During this time, Jay was able to mold and sculpt his own unique style as well as learn the “ins and outs” for documenting weddings.

 Jay is becoming a well known fashion photographer in St. Louis.  His creative blend of urban and high fashion styled photography is favorite amongst photographers as well as models.

Often does Jay’s background in fashion/lifestyle photography blend into his wedding photography.  Recently he has been working on an emotional series on documenting the homeless community in St. Louis.  He has also recently taken a liking to still life photography where he makes breathtaking monocrhrome images of the small things that most of us usually over look.

With Jay’s most recent pairing with fellow fashion photographer Joel F. Lester, they’ve created TBKene’ Fotografia.  Two of the area’s best and most creative photographers are now a team and are able to offer a quality of art that previously was not available to the bi-state area.

Jay’s primary geographic location/area of work is the Missouri/Illinois bi-state metro area, but he wishes to share his talent all over the world.

Most people describe Jay’s shooting style as being modern, edgy, fun, and timeless.   Through his images, one can truly see he truly defines life with his photography.
